Welcome to whybiodiversity.com! This site has been created by students from the da Vinci Program of the Upper Grand District School Board. It hopes to promote and inform others on biodiversity and why it is important. Biodiversity is key in our everyday life. Without it, our food, energy and water supply, vulnerability to natural disasters, health, raw materials, and even social relations will be at risk. Did you know that 17,291 species out of 47,677 known species are already at risk? There are many things you can do to prevent habitat and species loss. So get informed!
